So I can’t guarantee your library will have this. I DO know however that there is a number of libraries in Kentucky that have access to both Hoopla AND Libby and each one has a different set of books that they have access to.

Kentucky Libraries Unbound (KLU) is a consortium of Kentucky public libraries that share electronic resources. KLU offers downloadable material through Overdrive/Libby. From what I can tell, the libraries that are predominantly using Hoopla have access to Libby/Overdrive this way.

You will download the Libby app > go to add a card > Select Kentucky Libraries Unbound > THEN you look for your county. I believe it’s at this point that you add your card and pin.

Here are a couple of examples of books using the https://www.libraryextension.com/ and you can see that the availability is different. Same library card, different options:

Screenshot that show the book "influence" as available in ebook and movie from Hoopla, Also available from Open Library, and Kentucky Libraries Unlimited ebook with 0 copies available
Screenshot:
Hoopla no book available, Open Library no similar book available, Kentucky Libraries unlimited, Creativity Inc book has 3 or 4 copies of the audiobook available, and 0 of 4 copies of the ebook available
Screenshot:
Book understandable economic is always available under Hoopla, no copies found with Open Library and Kentucky Libraries Unbound 2 of 2 copies of the audiobook are available and 0 of 1 copies of the ebook are available with the option to place a hold instead of borrow.

Is something like this available in your state? It’s actually more likely a question of the county you are in versus the state. Hoopla is licensed individually by each library and Libby/OverDrive is typically funded statewide so if a Library prompts you to use Hoopla, you may also have access to Libby through a similar consortium.
